Welcome to the BAKUC.com user forums! To help everyone enjoy a happy and productive experience here we've set some guidelines down to follow. Please familiarize yourself with these before posting. Thanks!

Be kind and polite to others.
Since many of our members here are under the age of 18 we ask that you use proper language and refrain from attacking or getting involved with those attacking others. Engaging in or starting "flame wars", belittling others and their works (regardless of quality), using foul language, etc., will not be tolerated and will result in disciplinary action. If you see this happening, please report the offending threads/post to the BAKUC Forum Staff.

Vigilante Moderating
Though there are a good number of mods here, and all of us are frequent posters, sometimes we aren't always around when we are needed.  If you notice something happening that shouldn't be happening - huge images in sigs, huge images being posted, spamming of threads, etc. - here's what you can do.  Click the "Report this post" link and let the BAKUC User Forum Staff deal with it.

Images
No sig images. Period. Avatars are created through your BAKUC Gallery account, not the forum.

Aside from that you have the ability to attach images to your thread via this forum or host images elsewhere. Do not hotlink images hosted on anyones website other than your own. Photohost services like Photobucket and ImageShack are fine. Links to images on other servers are fine, just as long as the image itself is not displayed. This often steals that hosts bandwidth.

Topic Titles
Please be as specific with your subject titles as possible.  If you are posting about a specific person, place, or thing, then please try to put that specific noun in the topic subject itself.  This will save everyone time when browsing the forums, and make searching archived posts a lot easier.

Constructive Criticism
Constructive criticism is an important part of contributing to the discussions here at the BAKUC user forums.  Think of constructive criticism as a critique with the goal of improvement.  So, rather than reviewing another modeler's work and commenting on aspects you like and dislike, you should support your statements.  Why don't you like it?  How can it be improved?  Simply stating negatives can be seen as trolling or flaming — and sometimes it is.

Constructive criticism doesn't mean sugar coating anything.  It is important to be honest.  However, supporting your statements does give a more positive and helpful perspective.  It also gives you more credibility as a fellow artist/modeler.

This also goes for posting "fluff" or "great job bud!" posts. If that's all you have to say, then it's better to just say nothing. While it's nice to get compliments, it's tiring for the modeler and thread readers to sift through 20 fluff posts with no useful substance.

Please take the time to make constructive replies on the Forums. If you like a link (or model), take the time to write down what impressed you about it. No one is going to criticize your writing if it is well thought out and it's obvious you took a minute or two to write it out.

Basically we are all here to improve.  With constructive criticism we can all learn from one another and in the process, those with more experience can share.

No In-Progress Threads WITHOUT Images!
Seriously... why post up a bunch of text about a model you're going to do without at least a picture of the scheme or in-progress shots... something! Otherwise, in all honesty, most people aren't going to read or reply except to ask why you posted without pics.

No Discussion of Real World Religion or Politics!
This never goes well and ALWAYS ends up with people being pissed off on both sides. Just don't discuss it. Discussion of Gundam political stuff and the like is fine... Fed v/s Zeke. God Gundam v/s Devil Gundam. Roll Eyes

Board-Specific Rules and Guidelines.
Certain boards within the BAKUC user forums will have their own rules and guidelines. These will be "stickied" at the top of the forum. Please refer to these before posting in those forums.

Disciplinary Action
If you have failed to abide by these forum guidelines, regardless of your perceived  "status" the following steps will be taken:

Action 1: A one-week ban will be placed on offending parties. Ban will take effect immediately and reason for ban will appear when you attempt to access the forum.
Action 2: If after the one week ban a user continues with the actions that earned them that, a one-month ban will be put into effect.
Action 3: If 1 and 2 have been enacted and user still does not comply with guidelines, said user will be banned permenantly.

BAKUC Staff decisions are final.
Public complaints/appeals about or attempts to circumvent disciplinary action will result in the next action step.

Trading Post Guidelines

The BAKUC Forums is a modeling community, and not an online garage sale.

If your first post (or something you post very shortly after joining) is a new thread in the Trading Post, it will be carefully scrutinized by Staff and possibly removed. Possibly permanently. We want people here who are interested in the modeling community as a whole, and not just people joining up because they're either exiting the hobby, unloading a boat-load of product or looking to draw as much attention to their eBay auction as possible. In short, if your sole purpose in joining/posting at the BAKUC Forums is to boost your own private sales, you will most likely be turned away.

NEW POSTERS CANNOT START NEW TOPICS IN THE TRADING POST. Until you've made 5 prior posts, and believe me, these will not be spam otherwise the offenders post count will be reset, you cannot start a new topic in the Trading Post.
