This is my progress so far of the Alucard GK from Wave. It's also my first original kit. Since it's not a recast, I can post it here. I thought I'd share with you guys what I've been up to  since my Gunpla stuff has been almost non-existent lately.

When I fisrt inspected the parts, I thought assembly was going to be easy. I WAS WRONG!!!!!!!!!:why::crys:

The cloak has several raised areas that were from the molds reaching the end of their lifespan and some areas of the cloak's lining are missing. I found that paperclips have been effective in replacing the lining, but the uneven areas required a mindless amount of sanding and I'm still not done with that.

The head had been a pain as well. I've had to refit all of the hair pieces so that I can slide the head in and then put the front hair piece in. This has required a lot of test-fitting and cutting.

This is what I have so far. Most of it is pinned, but the cloak is actually free-floating. I've got to figure out how I'm going to lock it in place after painting as it's too difficult to pin. It wraps around the one arm which allows a tight fit, but this also brings in the issue of paint scratching during the final assembly. I'll work on more when I get the other half of the cloak done.

As you can see, the kit is huge!

A boxed model kit is like your dreams. They'll never be what you want them to be unless you make it happen.
